Every year, Kyle and I gift each other the same thing for Christmas: an end-of-year trip together.

Sometimes it’s just one night away, sometimes more, but it’s our tradition. Right after Christmas, before the year really begins, we leave. It’s our time to pause, reflect, and set intentions for what’s next.

After a full year of living in San Francisco instead of San Diego, and balancing two pretty intense jobs, we needed this trip more than ever. We wanted warmth, nature, and calm. An easy flight. Adults-only energy. Somewhere beautiful and relaxed.

Mexico felt right. Cabo didn’t.
